Woodford Co. ASAP Announces Scholarship Opportunity
For the first time this year, Woodford County ASAP (the Agency for Substance Abuse Prevention) is offering to high school seniors, four $1,000 scholarships to be paid directly to an institution of higher learning. The deadline for submission has been extended to MARCH 24.
The "Leadership" scholarship requires a short essay containing the following question:
How have you had a positive impact on your community and how do you plan to use your leadership strengths to positively impact those who are suffering with drug and alcohol abuse and/or addiction?
**Your essay should address each of the following components:
1. What are your leadership strengths?
2. How do you plan to use your leadership strength to positively impact those who might face drug and alcohol abuse/addition in the future?
The "Achiever" scholarship require a short essay containing the following question:
How to you plan to use your life experiences and/or the challenges that you have overcome related to drug abuse & addiction to positively impact those who are suffering from drug or alcohol abuse & addiction?
**Your essay should address each of the following components:
1. What challenges have you, or someone you know, faced related to drug and alcohol abuse or addiction? Remember this can be a personal struggle or someone in your family.
2. Explain how you, or someone you know, were able to overcome this obstacle or challenge.
3. How will you use these life experiences to positively impact the lives of those suffering from drug and alcohol abuse & addiction?
